Will I have internet access at the institute?

Internet access is not available in the Institute however cyber cafes are numerous all over the country.

Can you give me names of former teachers I can contact as references?

The Institute can and will give you a list of former teachers you may contact as a reference. This is done after the phone interview when there is continued interest on both sides. Our references will be in the form of email addresses. You may then contact the former teacher for his/her current phone number if desired.

How many vacation/sick days are permitted?

The Institute is not an academic institution. We do not have a semester system nor do we have a winter break. Our students are working professionals and most have a time frame in which they need to learn English. Due to this we do not have vacation days. The normal days off (Chilean statutory holidays) in a working year are the days you will have off. Depending on how the years calendar falls will determine the number of long weekends etc.

Teachers are paid on a per class taught basis and therefore sick time is not paid.

What can you tell me about the training program?

We provide a complete and intensive training program before you enter the class and additional teaching support. The initial training is 2 weeks involving role-plays and learning our methodology. The support system we provide permits all our teachers to enter into a classroom feeling completely prepared throughout.the academic year.

What happens when I arrive?

You will have a reservation at the airport with a shuttle service that will bring you directly to The Institute. Accommodation arrangements have been made on your behalf. The cost of accommodation is the teachers responsibility. We have a bank of information of various types of accommodations at reasonable prices.
